I've been marketing online for a number of years. I've had some great successes and a lot of failures.

Nobody knows better than me the agony of not being able to make your mortgage payment because of a lousy month of hardly any sales.

We've seen the web pages showing some guru standing beside his new Ferrari and big mansion with a big smile on his face.

To heck with that. I just needed enough to pay the mortgage and buy food for my kids.

$3000 a month would cover my expenses plus leave some money to reinvest in my online business.

So I set out to learn how to make $100 a day.

This shouldn't be that hard, I thought.

So I bought a bunch of expensive ebooks and watched a lot of videos that promised me great success.

I studied them all with great diligence.

Some were okay, but most of that stuff didn't work, or required a big investment in startup cash.

You know...money for adwords, money for sales copy, money for additional products.

It seemed as though nobody out there was willing to show me a simple way to earn $100 a day.

So I kept searching and looking. And one day, while I was thinking about giving up, I happened upon a guys site. It was about Squidoo. A site that allowed you to build a "lens".

A lens was a one page site where you could talk about your passions and interests. It was a page that allowed you to add something called modules.

There were many of these modules that you could customize and instantly add to your page.

So I learned all I could about Squidoo and pretty soon I was making about 10 new sites a day.

I got so good at it that other Squidoo freaks would come to my sites and email me asking if I would consider selling my lens.

At the time I didn't know you could sell lenses, so this came as a big surprise to me.

So I emailed these people back and asked them how much they were willing to pay.
 
The first person that got back to me said they would give me $100 for a lens about golf.

I had totally forgotten about my golf lens. It had been sitting there on Squidoo for about a month after I built it.

So I emailed the person back and said: "SOLD"!

That was my first $100.
